What Makes the Mangrove Lily Collection Unique?

Inspired by the resilient beauty of Crinum pendunculatum, also known as the Mangrove Lily, our captivating jewellery range pays homage to the unique provenance of this coastal perennial and our Akoya pearls.

Consisting of pendant, studs and ring, this collection features an Australian Akoya pearl grown at our Broken Bay Pearl Farm (NSW). Mirroring the Mangrove Lily, the filigree metalwork featured in the design of this collection evokes the umbrella of petals belonging to this coastal marvel.

The Mangrove Lily thrives in the tidal areas of NSW and symbolises nature’s adaptability to the dynamic coastal environment.

The dense roots of mangroves help to bind and build the soils of our coastal region and are some of the most efficient carbon sequestration substrates (‘blue carbon sinks’) on the planet. Our beautiful Australian Akoya pearls are grown alongside mangroves, also helping to filter pollutants.

Dressing in this collection becomes a wearable testament to the connection we have to our environment, embodying the unique provenance of both the Mangrove Lily and our pearls grown amongst them.

Where Are the Pearls From This Collection From?

All pearls in the Mangrove Lily collection are grown in the pristine waterways of Broken Bay, on the Central Coast of NSW. These Australian Akoya pearls are carefully cultivated to achieve their stunning, natural colour and lustre and come with a Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring traceability and provenance.

What Materials and Design Details Make the Mangrove Lily Collection Special?

The Mangrove Lily Collection is inspired by the striking mangrove lily flower, a coastal plant found across shorelines and tidal landscapes. Known for its long, delicate petals and sculptural form, the flower has been reinterpreted through contemporary jewellery design that highlights both natural beauty and craftsmanship.

Each Mangrove Lily piece centres around a stunning Akoya pearl grown at our Broken Bay Pearl Farm, selected for its natural colour and lustre.

The design of the collection reflects the graceful structure of the mangrove lily flower. Curving filigree mirrors the petals, creating movement around the pearl. These sculptural details give the collection a distinctive silhouette while maintaining a timeless aesthetic.

Mangrove Lily jewellery is crafted using high-quality 9ct solid gold, selected for its longevity and beauty. For more insight into the metals and materials used across Pearls of Australia jewellery, explore our Materials Guide which explain the craftsmanship and durability behind every piece.

What Pearl Types and Shapes Are Featured in the Mangrove Lily Collection?

The Mangrove Lily Collection showcases pearls chosen for their natural beauty and lustre. All the pieces in this collection feature our Australian Akoya pearls, known for their mirror-like lustre, and are round or near-round in shape. Their balanced shape complements the flowing lines of the filigree metalwork, allowing the pearl to sit harmoniously at the centre of the jewellery piece.

Some pearls may display subtle organic shape or surface variations. These natural characteristics are part of what makes each pearl unique and reflect the organic process through which pearls form within the pearl shell.
