Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm has officially joined the WA Tourism Awards Hall of Fame, taking home Gold in the Unique Accommodation category at the 2025 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards for the third consecutive year, and has also been awarded the Sir David Brand Award for Tourism Excellence, the most prestigious honour in Western Australian tourism.

The Hall of Fame honour is reserved for tourism businesses that achieve Gold in the same category for three consecutive years, recognising outstanding excellence, innovation, and consistency in delivering world-class visitor experiences. The Sir David Brand Award acknowledges the single most outstanding tourism business in the state across all categories.

Located two hours north of Broome on the Dampier Peninsula, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm has long been regarded as a Kimberley icon, an authentic working pearl farm where guests can stay, dine, and explore one of the world’s most spectacular marine wildernesses.

“To be recognised three years in a row and now inducted into the Hall of Fame, as well as receiving the Sir David Brand award is an incredible honour,” said James Brown, third-generation pearl farmer and Managing Director of Pearls of Australia. “From my grandfather Dean Brown living in a bark hut in the 1940s to opening our doors to the public in 2009, Cygnet Bay’s story has always been about perseverance, innovation and community. This achievement belongs to our entire team, our local partners and the many guests who have shared in our journey.”

Over the past 15 years, the farm has expanded its visitor offering to include two distinctive accommodation precincts - Pearlers Village and Divers Creek - alongside eco-safari tents, pearling tours, sea safaris, dining at The Homestead Restaurant, and immersive experiences that share the story of the Australian pearl.

“We’re proud to showcase the heart of the Kimberley through authentic, nature-based tourism,” added Brown. “Visitors can see a live pearl harvest, taste pearl meat, meet our farmers, and stay just metres from the ocean. It’s a true connection to place.”

This latest recognition cements Cygnet Bay’s reputation as one of Western Australia’s most distinctive and pioneering destinations, blending heritage, innovation, and genuine hospitality to offer experiences found nowhere else in the world.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm offers a rare chance to stay on a sustainable pearl farm while immersing yourself in the Kimberley’s untamed beauty. Guests can choose between luxury safari tents, historic pearling shacks and nature-based camping experiences, and enjoy bucket-list adventures in one of the world’s last marine wildernesses.
