Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, a third-generation family-owned business and pioneering leader in sustainable pearling, is excited to announce the opening of its latest accommodation offering:
12 new Eco Tents, providing visitors with an immersive and comfortable experience to explore the Dampier Peninsula.
These new fan-cooled tents are nestled between the existing Pearlers Village Safari Tents (launched in 2022) and the 2WD Caravan and Camping section, creating an inviting atmosphere for nature lovers and families alike. The site features five family tents (queen bed and bunk bed for up to four people) and seven single tents (queen bed), each equipped with private ensuites for added comfort.
The Eco Tents provide a relaxed and natural atmosphere for guests, allowing them to experience the beauty of the Kimberley while staying just a short walk from all of the farm’s main amenities, including the Homestead Restaurant, infinity pool, pearl gallery, and the tour departure point. Visitors can unwind around the central campfire, which serves as a hub for storytelling and socialising after a day of adventure.
CEO James Brown commented: “This new addition to Cygnet Bay reflects our ongoing commitment to providing an authentic Kimberley experience while minimising environmental impact. These eco tents are built with sustainability in mind and blend seamlessly with the natural environment.”
Sustainability and Local Collaboration
The new tents are connected to the farm’s state-of-the-art biological wastewater treatment facility, ensuring that the environmental footprint remains minimal. The development was completed with the help of Indigenous-owned Broome companies, including Merce Electrics and Garlooroo Plumbing, with whom Cygnet Bay proudly collaborated on both the electrical and plumbing works.
Surrounding the tents, guests will enjoy the lush, natural landscaping created by Broome Horticultural Services and Pearl Coast Palms, enhanced by plants from the Bardi Ranger Nursery.
An Accessible Kimberley Escape
One of the best features of these new Eco Tents is that they allow for easy access to the region’s natural beauty without needing a 4WD—2WD vehicles can reach this new accommodation. This makes it more accessible than ever for visitors to enjoy a retreat into the wild while enjoying all the comforts of the farm.
Whether you’re exploring Cygnet Bay for its rich pearling heritage, cultural tours or the famous Waterfall Reef or sea safari tours, the new Eco Tents offer the perfect base to explore the Dampier Peninsula or simply relax and connect with the land.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, is a renowned destination on the Kimberley Coast, offering unique accommodation, tours, dining, and exquisite pearls directly from their farm. With a commitment to sustainability and a rich heritage of pearling, Cygnet Bay stands as a distinguished member of the Pearls of Australia family. As a family-owned and operated business spanning three generations, we’ve devoted ourselves to the art of cultivating the world’s finest pearls, nurtured deep within the pristine waterways of Australia.
Our unique jewellery collections, a testament to our commitment to excellence, are crafted with pearls from two locally grown species. Each pearl, a result of years of meticulous cultivation, is sold directly from our ocean farms.
But our story doesn’t end on the west coast. In New South Wales, Broken Bay Pearl Farm, another jewel in the Pearls of Australia family, contributes its own chapter to our legacy. Across two distinct regions, both farms operate under the same principles of dedication to quality, sustainability, and the inherent beauty of nature.
To purchase one of these rare and precious gems from Cygnet Bay or Broken Bay is to own not just a piece of jewellery, but a small part of the ocean itself. Our pearls, intrinsically sustainable, carry the assurance of being untreated with true provenance, just as nature intended. It’s a unique opportunity to embrace the ocean’s treasures, whether you find yourself in the wild beauty of Western Australia or the coastal charm of New South Wales.
