Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm Wins National Unique Accommodation Award Again

  • Second consecutive national wins in the Unique Accommodation category at the 2025 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.
  • Commitment to sustainability and cultural collaboration continues to set Cygnet Bay apart.
  • A Kimberley icon: Three generations of pearling heritage and innovation celebrated.
  • Year-round adventure: Cygnet Bay remains a leading tourism destination on the remote Kimberley coast.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, a pioneering tourism and pearling destination north of Broome, is proud to
announce its back-to-back national win, this year taking home bronze in the
Unique Accommodation category at the 2025 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.

Following last year’s national success and consecutive state gold wins at the Perth Airport WA
Tourism Awards
, this prestigious honour reinforces Cygnet Bay’s dedication
to providing exceptional, sustainable, and culturally immersive experiences
in one of Australia’s most remote and breathtaking locations.

A Unique Kimberley Experience

Located on the Dampier
Peninsula, just two hours north of Broome, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm offers
visitors an opportunity to stay in eco-conscious luxury safari tents, historic
pearling quarters, and nature-based accommodations, all set against the
stunning backdrop of the Kimberley coast.

CEO James Brown, a third-generation custodian of the family’s pearling legacy, expressed his pride in the farm’s continued success:

“Winning bronze at the
national level is an incredible honour. This award recognises our commitment to
providing world-class, nature-based experiences while preserving the
environment and sharing the deep cultural connections of this land. We’re proud
to welcome visitors into this special place and share its rich pearling
history, Indigenous heritage, and breathtaking natural beauty.”

Sustainability, Culture, and Growth

Cygnet Bay’s ongoing collaboration with the Bardi Jawi community continues to shape its guest
experiences, with authentic cultural tours and experiences that highlight the
deep connection between people, land, and sea. The farm has also expanded its
sustainable infrastructure, including:

  • 12 new eco-friendly safari tents opened in 2024, featuring private ensuites and fan cooling.
  • Solar power system and biological wastewater treatment facilities, reducing environmental impact.
  • Year-round operations, allowing guests to experience the wonders of the Kimberley across all seasons.

A Legacy of Innovation

Founded in 1946, Cygnet Bay
Pearl Farm has evolved from a working pearl farm into a world-renowned tourism
destination, sharing the story of Australian South Sea pearls while offering
immersive cultural, adventure, and marine experiences.

From exciting sea safaris
showcasing giant tides and oceanic waterfalls to hands-on pearl farm tours,
Cygnet Bay invites visitors to experience a side of the Kimberley that is both
authentic and unforgettable.

“This win is a tribute to
our incredible team, the Bardi Jawi community, and everyone who has supported
us in sharing the magic of the Kimberley with the world,” James Brown added.
