  • Excellence in unique accommodation – offering visitors an extraordinary blend of luxury, sustainability, and immersive experience.
  • Sustainability in action – not just about luxury
  • Cultural collaboration – all trades and materials sourced from WA
  • Year-round adventure – Cygnet Bay now open all year
  • Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, an iconic destination and operating pearl farm north of Broome, proudly announces its win, taking out the gold award for the Unique Accommodation category at the 2023 QANTAS Australian Tourism Awards.
  • This prestigious recognition comes on the heels of Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm’s recent triumph at the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards, where it clinched the gold award for the Unique Accommodation category and recognises Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm’s commitment to providing an unparalleled and unforgettable experience on the Kimberley Coast.

Nestled on the pristine Dampier Peninsula, just two hours north of Broome, Cygnet Bay offers an array of diverse experiences that showcase the essence of the Kimberley region.

Over the years, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm has undergone significant enhancements, including the addition of luxurious safari tents, a nature-based campground, restaurant kitchen upgrades, and a state-of-the-art biological wastewater treatment facility. These improvements have not only increased accommodation capacity but also allowed Cygnet Bay to remain open year-round for visitors.

The newly introduced award-winning safari tents, located in the Pearler’s Village, exemplify a blend of luxury and eco-conscious design, providing guests with a comfortable retreat amidst lush greenery.

Moreover, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm’s commitment to sustainability shines through its collaboration with local trades, indigenous-owned businesses, and eco-conscious practices, highlighting its dedication to environmental responsibility.

James Brown, CEO of Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, expressed gratitude for the local community’s involvement in the project, highlighting the technical challenges and the farm’s commitment to a sustainable future. “We were really proud to win at the state awards, and national recognition is a massive unexpected honour and great achievement for our team. These developments align with Cygnet Bay’s long-term vision of providing visitors a truly unique Kimberley adventure,” he said.

This award honours a long legacy of 3 generations who have each continued to build and grow the Cygnet Bay community, which is no easy task in the remote Kimberley, even today.  I am sure my grandfather who constructed the first bark hut in 1962 at the farm would be proud of our achievements in receiving this award”.

The win not only pays homage to a long legacy spanning three generations but also celebrates the unique charm and authenticity that each generation has contributed to the Cygnet Bay community.

Moving forward, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm remains committed to inviting guests to explore the Kimberley coast throughout the year, showcasing the region’s unique beauty and experiences.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, is a renowned destination on the Kimberley Coast, offering unique accommodation, tours, dining, and exquisite pearls directly from their farm. With a commitment to sustainability and a rich heritage of pearling, Cygnet Bay stands as a distinguished member of the Pearls of Australia family. As a family-owned and operated business spanning three generations, we’ve devoted ourselves to the art of cultivating the world’s finest pearls, nurtured deep within the pristine waterways of Australia.

Our unique jewellery collections, a testament to our commitment to excellence, are crafted with pearls from two locally grown species. Each pearl, a result of years of meticulous cultivation, is sold directly from our ocean farms.

But our story doesn’t end on the west coast. In New South Wales, Broken Bay Pearl Farm, another jewel in the Pearls of Australia family, contributes its own chapter to our legacy. Across two distinct regions, both farms operate under the same principles of dedication to quality, sustainability, and the inherent beauty of nature.

To purchase one of these rare and precious gems from Cygnet Bay or Broken Bay is to own not just a piece of jewellery, but a small part of the ocean itself. Our pearls, intrinsically sustainable, carry the assurance of being untreated with true provenance, just as nature intended. It’s a unique opportunity to embrace the ocean’s treasures, whether you find yourself in the wild beauty of Western Australia or the coastal charm of New South Wales.
