What are Mabe pearls?

Mabe pearls also known as blister pearls, or half pearls, are set in either sterling silver or gold jewellery to showcase the beautiful lustre of our South Sea pearls worn flat against the skin of the wearer.

What makes Mabe pearls unique?

What makes Mabe pearls unique is the shape of the pearl. Because they are cultivated against the inside of the pearl shell, rather than within its tissue, one side of the pearl is flat.

What colours for Mabe pearls come in?

Our Mabe pearls are produced by our South Sea pearl shells and are commonly white to cream in colour. There are various other pearl shells that produce other colours – like the black-lipped oyster that produces green, peacock or black Mabe pearls and the Penguin oyster that produces Mabe pearls with pink, champagne and gold hues.
